Do you know that special feeling that comes from wearing a one-of-a-kind garment created especially for you? Hester Michael does. She is a fabric artist specializing in custom sewing and pattern making in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.
As early as 12 years old, Hester started sewing and making garments in her mother's professional sewing studio, which she later wore to elementary school. Since that time Hester has explored all aspects of fabric and textile creation, design, and use. Hester has studied fashion and costume design culminating in a BFA in 1997 from the Louise Salinger Academy of Fashion in San Francisco. She has held positions of Pattern Maker and Designer in the local fashion industry and couture design houses in San Francisco. She also was a Fashion Instructor at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and the Art Institute of California for many years.
In addition to her love of all things fabric, Hester continues to be creative with textile weaving, pastel drawing, painting, and wearable art.
Please don't hesitate to call Hester today with your questions or ideas. She's ready to help you with all your custom sewing and pattern making needs.
